This Tony Award-winning musical is a vibrant, jazzy folk opera that reimagines the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. As young, hopeful Orpheus journeys to the industrial Underworld to rescue his beloved Eurydice, the story—narrated by the charming god Hermes—intertwines their romance with the troubled love of King Hades and Lady Persephone. It is a haunting and hopeful tale that pits doubt against faith and love against the forces of industry.
